The Firestone Center

about the program

Father Tom Firestone has facilitated an Alternative Spring Break program in Flint for 9 years. Over that time, the program has hosted families, college groups and researchers from across the country, amassing over 10,000 hours of impact. To generate greater impact and continue Fr. Tom's mission, SIPI has created the Firestone Center. We are now looking to expand to 10,000 hours of community service per year. Come help us achieve our goal!

why flint?

Flint is not an exception to the rule, it is an indicator of challenges to come for urban areas across our country. Because of its size, Flint serves as a meaningful living laboratory where the impact of service can be seen almost immediately.
